Plumber in Somerville, MA: remodel plumbing
Rough-in and finish plumbing on Somerville remodels, from a master plumber in Saugus.
Shane has done remodel plumbing in Somerville more than once. One job was the first floor of a two-family house, shown at the rough-in stage. Another was handed back to its owner, with photos from October 2025. Photos from both are below.
What we see in Somerville
Two bathrooms, a kitchen and a laundry on one floor
On the first floor of a two-family house Shane roughed in two wet-vented full bathrooms, an individually vented kitchen and an individually vented laundry. He upsized the water main to serve both units, added a new water heater for the first floor and moved a half-inch outdoor silcock line.
Working around the contractor's plan
The general contractor did not want any studs drilled, so Shane ran all the vents in front of the studs, and the contractor planned to box them in. Routes like that are worth settling before the walls close.
